After considering feedback I've been given on a few of my previous posts I decided to test out some different types of rock structures. I was also starting to draw some buildings for the upcoming digital painting class on Monday and I got a little carried away with testing out more extreme colours. Feedback welcome.
loving the drama! I'd like to see you crisping up some of the details in your paintings - when I look at the softness of this, I'm seeing 'underpainting' in need of detailing (fine highlights, rim lighting, more distinct textures, signature architectural detailing...). In terms of identifying some bold, brave colour schemes, check out this very handy resource:

Thanks! I'll look into adding details...I was looking at some photos I took at the Pére Lachaise Cemetery and Notre Dame then Sagrada Família and gothic architecture in general for inspiration. So maybe some long, tall, narrow, sharp doorways/columns/windows and statues or gargoyles or something like that. Also been looking over some photos I took at the Rodin Museum, I love his work and think some pieces like The Gates of Hell might be useful.
