I really loved making this piece and in my opinion it's working well and has potential. I know I need to add more detail, but I didn't want to spend too long on this despite having a lot of fun with it. I struggled at first to stay interested but after I got past blocking in some tones (I put a gradient map over it afterwards to add colour). I also like the colours in this but will obviously add more when I make my final pieces. I really feel as though this matches with the mood of my exterior shots (I know the colours don't all match, I'm still experimenting with it). I used my building silhouettes to help come up with the shapes for the columns.
Now this, this is just fabulous :)
ReplyDeleteThis is really good! Looking forward to see how it will go
ReplyDeleteThank you both ^_^
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in the floor surface... it looks indistinct and watery here; I think you need to resolve a more structured surface - something more formalised as opposed to a 'cave floor' - big slabs of rock-like paving? Something to lend further credence and detail to your interior... I'm pleased you're feeling more positive about 'buildings!' :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, I thought it looked a bit like fluid while I was drawing it but since I was quite pleased with it I decided to post it as is and look into different floors/tiles/any other suggestions after. I've started looking at what photos I took during trips to Italy and France as a starting point to see if I have images of my own I can use for reference but I'll also search for other ideas as well.
